After an additional tarmac delay in Turin due to thunder, the bus couldn't come out to get us for 30 minutes... we finally made the 1 hour drive to our first 3 day stop... the Bella Baita with Fabrizio and Marla hosting us marvelously!
The views of the snow covered distant Alps were refreshing.

I totally forgot to photo the primi pasta of wild mushroom homemade noodles.. or the garden grown purple asparagus... but I did get the homemade cherry and chocolate pastry for dessert.

Another mother/ daughter from North Carolina are staying here as well... and so between us, a magnum of local Barbera finished off with 2 shots of local, wild cherry grappa, made for a very restful, jet lagged sleep. Getting ready now for day 2....
